Actress/singer Melora Hardin, best known for her role as the tough-as-nails boss Jan Levenson on the hit comedy The Office, spoke with Gary Bryan about performing at this weekend’s BBQ for the Troops in Santa Clarita.

Organized by the USO and Habitat for Humanity, the BBQ for the Troops is being thrown to celebrate a ground-breaking ceremony at a new Habitat Enriched Neighborhood and memorial for veterans in Santa Clarita. The project will build 87 home community for deserving veterans and their families.

“It’s going to be such a fun day. I really hope a lot of people come out,” said Melora. “They’re serving a great menu…they also have games for kids and there’s going to be a chili cookoff. It’s just a really, really fun way to spend everyone’s day…but also it’s a really good cause.”

Melora will be performing a USO-style song and dance kind of show for all the guests at the BBQ. Not only is she a talented actress, but little do fans know, she can also sing!

BBQ for the Troops will take place Saturday, November 9th, just before Veteran’s Day, at 21545 Centre Pointe Parkway in Santa Clarita from 11:30 am – 4 pm.

Admission prices for the event are $20 for adults, $5 for children 12 and under until Nov. 9th (online) and free for military/veterans. Tickets can be purchased at http://www.humanityca.org/ourevents.
