Did You Know: “December 1963 (Oh What a Night)” By The Four Seasons

This afternoon between two and three listen for The Four Seasons and “December 1963 (Oh What a Night)” on ‘Tickets @ 2.’

According to the co-writer and longtime band member Bob Gaudio, the song was originally set in 1933 with the title “December 5th, 1933,” celebrating the repeal of Prohibition. Frankie Valli wasn’t thrilled with the title of the lyrics.

The lead singer on the first verse is drummer Gerri Polci – Frankie Valli comes in on the second verse.

It was the groups fifth and final #1 hit here and the only Four Seasons songs to reach #1 in the UK.

When we play it between two and three we’ll take caller #7 at 1-800-232-KRTH (5784) to win a pair of tickets to see Smokey Robinson in concert November 7th at San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino.
