Actor Shemar Moore, star of the hit CBS series Criminal Minds, called in to The K-EARTH 101 Morning Show to talk about taking part in the Cali Ride MS on Saturday, October 12th.
Shemar told us he’ll be riding to benefit his mother, who has suffered from multiple sclerosis for 14 years. He’ll be completing a 100 mile bike ride in the Cali Ride in effort to raise $100K towards MS research.
“My momma raised me right. She’s my little superhero, she’s my supermom,” said Shemar. “It’s tough to see your superhero get cracked a little bit, but anything for momma, even if I have to put on Superman tights and ride a bicycle a hundred miles…it’s all for a good cause.”
Now in its eighth year, Shemar has participated in the Cali Ride MS 100 mile bike ride four out of the past seven years, and this year the 43-year-old actor says he’s “determined” to cross the finish line once again.
If you’d like to donate to Shemar’s cause and help him get to his goal of $100K, fans can make their donations on shemarmoore.com.
In addition to Shemar’s Cali Ride for MS, he also helps raise money for the MS Society through his women’s clothing line ‘Baby Girl.’
“The Baby Girl stuff is not just a gimmick. It’s a fun way – I call it keeping it silly and keeping it sexy – but the proceeds from the clothing line does not go in my pocket, it goes towards the research of MS,” said Shemar.
