T-minus two days until K-EARTH 101 kicks off our ‘I Want My MTV’ Weekend with the help of original VJ Nina Blackwood and The Bangles’ lead singer Susanna Hoffs this Friday at 7 a.m.!

All week, we’ve been reminiscing about that first golden decade after MTV launched and changed an entire generation. The original ‘fab five’ VJs – Mark Goodman, Alan Hunter, the late J.J. Jackson, Nina Blackwood and Martha Quinn – became the tastemakers of popular music and took viewers through 24 hours of music videos of their favorite artists. No wonder why they claim they’re “the reason you have no attention span.”

So in anticipation of K-EARTH 101’s ‘I Want My MTV’ Weekend, take a look back at what the first 20 videos ever played on the channel were and relive the nostalgia of these classic videos!

1. “Video Killed the Radio Star” — The Buggles
