This afternoon on ‘Tickets @ 2′ listen for Rod Stewart’s “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?”

Stewart known for his soulful Blues and Folk Ballads, Disco was a departure, and it gave him a new look, and attracted new fans, while alienating many of his old ones, who had no interest in Disco and remembered Rod as a member of The Faces.

Reflecting in Esquire in 2012, he said: “I used to be embarrassed to sing it, but people love it. So it’s in the show.” After all it did top the charts at #1.

Most of the music for the song was written by drummer Carmine Appice.

Rod claims the song is not about him, as it is sung in the third person. He used the title as the name of his 1978 tour.

Stewart moved from England to Los Angeles in 1975, and quickly blended in with the celebrity population.

When we play it between two and three we’ll take caller #21 at 1-800-232-KRTH (5784) to win a pair of tickets to K-EARTH 101s Boogie Bash October 25th at the Hollywood Palladium.
