There’s a video making the rounds on the web of a man waking up post-surgery still groggy from anesthesia and briefly has no memory that the pretty woman sitting next to his hospital bed is his wife.
The hilariously adorable video shows the husband, Jason, in complete shock after the moment he realizes the “nice piece of eye candy” he thought was sent by the doctor was actually his wife, Candice, of six years.
He exclaims over and over that “she’s the prettiest girl he’s ever seen” and that he “hit the jackpot” as his wife giggles behind the camera.
However, there has been speculation that the video was staged (in the days after Jimmy Kimmel revealed that it was really him behind the viral “worst twerking fail ever” video, can you blame people?), but the video’s author adamantly claims it was all real.
In the video description, Jason writes: “In response to all of the questions: I had a hernia repair to fix residual tears from a previous surgery. I wish I could remember this but I was definitely out of it. This was my fifth surgery within our six years of marriage and she’s been by my side through all of it. In a previous surgery I suffered a severe complication and we didn’t know if I’d ever function the same again. She is the love of my life.”
Real or fake, there’s no denying the sensation this viral video has caused – since being posted on Aug. 30th, it’s amassed 8.7 million views.
