Chicago News Station Hangs Up On Oprah During Live Interview
Local Chicago news station WGN made a big goof during a live interview with Oprah Winfrey Tuesday morning that will be hard to live down.
The WGN Morning News team was on a live call with Queen O, who was their first guest on the new expanded hour of the show, when they accidentally hung up on her, writes WGNTV.com.
You can hear the phone cut out all of a sudden and the anchors cry out in astonishment they lost their A-list guest. One of the anchors even blames the goof on one of their own saying, “Larry hung up on Oprah!” Come on, Larry, you had one job to do!
And the goof definitely wasn’t Oprah’s fault, as she explained when she was back on the line.
“I’m just sitting her on the phone talking and all of a sudden music comes in and I’m like, ‘OK, I guess that’s my cue,'” Oprah said when she called back. “It’s like you’re standing at an award show and the music starts. Oh, OK, that’s my cue to shut up.”
