Pro football is coming back to SoCal! ESPN announced that the Arena Football League has awarded a new expansion team to a group of investors that includes KISS band members Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley.
Not only are the legendary face-painted rockers part owners, the team will also share its name with the heavy-metal band as the L.A. KISS.
The team will kick off its season at Anaheim’s Honda Center in March, and according to Simmons himself, the games will be non-stop action all season long.
“As a fast-paced, high-action band, this partnership with the AFL was an obvious fit for us,” Simmons said in a statement. “Attending an LA KISS game in 2014 will be similar to a live KISS show, with thrilling, heart-pounding action.”
The team will sport KISS’s iconic logo, but ESPN notes that it’s still unknown whether or now the uniforms will be black and silver.
Fans who purchase the season tickets (starting at an affordable $99) will also be treated to a KISS concert at the start of the season. Ain’t too shabby.
