Whitney Houston Gets Comic Book Tribute To Commemorate 50th Birthday
To commemorate what would be Whitney Houston’s 50th birthday on Friday, August 9th, graphic novel company Bluewater Productions has released a colorful comic book in her honor titled Tribute: Whitney Houston on Wednesday.
The tribute tells the story of the late singer’s life growing up in Newark, New Jersey, her rise to fame all the way to her untimely and tragic death on February 11, 2012. Readers will be taken through an illustrated journey through the music icon’s past to honor and detail “how she changed the world with just the sound of her voice.”
“The Tribute line of comic books tells the stories of the classic entertainers that have passed on,” says Bluewater publisher, Darren G. Davis. “It is a way for us to honor these people who have made a difference in the world.”
The 32-page booklet is written by Raphael Moran and drawn by Kirk Feretzanis with a cover by famed artist Neil Feigeles.
Other fallen stars who’ve received a comic book tribute from Bluewater Productions include Elizabeth Taylor, Marilyn Monroe, James Dean and Michael Jackson.
