The new owners of the Forum in Inglewood are planning on restoring the venue with a $76 million makeover, with plans to open in mid- January with performances by the Eagles entitled History of the Eagles, featuring not only their classic songs, but ones never performed live.

Originally built as the home of the Los Angeles Lakers in 1967, the Forum was used for both sporting and music events throughout the years, hosting some of the biggest names in music such as The Rolling Stones, Prince, Elvis Presley, Elton John and many others.

In 2012, the venue was purchased by The Madison Square Garden Co. from the Faith Bible Church for $23.5 million.

Some of the upgrades MSG has for The Forum are new paint, flooring and 17,500 red velvet seats, with an emphasis on being a music and entertainment venue.

The color red will be replacing the color blue visitors have been accustomed to.

When the restored venue opens in January, it will be known as the Forum Presented by Chase.
