The Academy Hosting First Live Commentary Event With ‘The Princess Bride’

For all you movie buffs who love to watch your favorite films with the special cast/crew commentary playing over-top, The Academy of Motion Picture, Arts and Sciences has a treat for you!

The Academy is hosting its first ever live commentary event with a screening of the beloved 1987 film The Princess Bride featuring some of the movie’s cast itself!

Oscar-nominated filmmaker Jason Reitman will host the the live screening on Thursday, August 15, at 7:30 p.m. at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills.  He will be joined on stage by the movie’s director Rob Reiner and star Cary Elwes, who together will provide “illuminating anecdotes, behind-the-scenes details and filmmaker insights in real time,” according to the Academy’s site.

Tickets for the inaugural event are $5 for the general public and $3 for Academy members and students with a valid ID, and may be purchased starting August 1 online at www.oscars.org.
