Celebrities aren’t so different from you and I; they breathe the same air, they have to eat and drink to survive, and they too have inexplicable fears that drive them to certain madness from time to time.
We stumbled across a story on Us Magazine, which revealed the peculiar irrational fears that some celebrities suffer on a daily basis. Knowing that Oprah has a phobia of chewing gum will make you feel much better about that fear of heights.

Helen Mirren — Telephones: Phones “make me so nervous!” the dame, 68, has said. “I always avoid picking up.”
Sean “Diddy” Combs — Long Toes: The rapper, 43, once admitted on The Tonight Show, “I really fear a second long toe.”
Adele — Seagulls: “I’ve still got a scar,” the singer, 25, has said of being attacked by the bird at age 9.
Oprah Winfrey — Chewing Gum: “My grandmother used to save [used gum],” explains the mogul, 59. “So gross!”
Christina Ricci — Plants: “If I have to touch one, after already being repulsed by the fact that there is a plant indoors, then it just freaks me out,” she’s said.
Matthew McConaughey — Revolving Doors: “I get anxious just being near them,” the star has said.
Daniel Radcliff — clowns: The Harry Potter star revealed he suffers from coulrophobia, the fear of clowns.
Nicole Kidman — butterflies: She told In Style that she suffers from lepidopterophobe, a fear of butterflies. “I’m not afraid of snakes or spiders. But I’m scared of butterflies,” she said.
Billy Bob Thorton — Antique Furniture: The actor refuses to stay in any room with antique furniture made before 1950. The reason he has said is, “I’ve had friends tell me that maybe I was beaten to death with an antique chair in a former life.”
Madonna — thunder: The Material Girl suffers from brontophobia, a fear of thunder.
