Did You Know: “So Far Away” By Carole King

Today’s ‘Tickets @ 2’ hit is “So Far Away” by Carole King. If you own the Tapestry album by King you know it’s one of many songs on the album that the the LP a smash!

Lou Adler, who produced Tapestry and owned Carol King’s record company said: “‘So Far Away’ is my favorite song on the album. I use the phrase a lot, ‘Doesn’t anybody stay in one place anymore?’ It’s the road, it’s people traveling, it seems to me an anthem.”

This was a favorite song of Amy Winehouse and she often sung it with her father, Mitch. Her funeral service on July 26th 2011, ended with a rendition of the song.

When you hear “So Far Away” between two and three we’ll take caller #10 at 1-800-232-KRTH (5784) to win a pair of tickets to see The Monkees, Tuesday August 13th at the Terrace Theatre Long Beach.
