If you want to throw a party no one will forget, how about hiring a celebrity to appear!
According to the NY Post, many celebrities will make an appearance at private parties – for a pretty penny.
“People love celebrities, and every star has a price,” New York-based celebrity booker Matt Altman, owner of Headline Booking Group, told NY Post.
For a cool $250,000 dollars, The Voice star Usher will sing “Happy Birthday,” Entourage star Jeremy Piven will carry out the dessert tray for only $50,000, and NBA star Dennis Rodman will DJ for a steal of just $20,000!
Want the “Piano Man” himself to perform or Mr. “Margaritaville” to sing at your bash? You can hire Billy Joel or Jimmy Buffett if you can pony up a million dollars for the appearance, according to Steve Einzig, owner of Manhattan-based BookingEntertainment.com.
This practice of celebrities making private appearances on the side isn’t anything new. Pop star Nicki Minaj just performed at a NY bar mitzvah, while Miley Cyrus got $20,000 just to meet a fan. That’s nothing compared to Kanye West and Jay-Z, who just pocketed $3 million each to perform at a sweet 16 for the daughter of an Arab billionaire.
