Jocko Marcellino of the group Sha Na Na checked in with the K-EARTH 101 Morning Show to talk about taking the stage this weekend for the annual Grease Sing-A-Long at the Hollywood Bowl!
This year is the 35th anniversary of the beloved movie starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John, and to celebrate, Sha Na Na will be performing some of the classic songs from the movies!
The group, who played the high school band Johnny Casino and the Gamblers in the movie, will get the crowd warmed up before the screening of the film and singing along with all the great songs from the movie.
“This has become a family event,” said Jocko about the Bowl tradition. “They all come dressed up greased with their Pink Lady outfits on, their T-Birds leather jackets, and it’s fabulous that a fourth generation is learning these songs and loving these songs.”
Not only will you hear the classic songs from the movie, but also new material from the group’s new release, “Sha Na Na Greaser High School Hop,” which features 25 signature songs perfect for an instant high school hop dance party like “The Bop,” “The Twist,” “The Hand Jive,” “The Monkey,” and “The Hokey Pokey.”
Don’t miss Sha Na Na taking the stage this Saturday, July 13th at 7:30 sharp for the Grease Sing-A-Long at the Hollywood Bowl! For tickets and more information, visit www.hollywoodbowl.com.
