LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Four of 19 firefighters killed Sunday in a Arizona wildfire were from Southern California, CBS2 confirmed Monday.

The four firefighters with ties to SoCal include 21-year-old Kevin Woyjeck, son of Los Angeles County Fire Captain Joe Woyjeck, Chris MacKenzie and Billy Warneke both originally from Hemet, and 21-year-old Grant McKee.

The Yarnell Hill fire that killed all but one member of a 20-strong “hotshot” team was the biggest loss of firefighters’ lives since the September 11 attacks, and the most from a US wildfire in 80 years.

The city of Prescott, Ariz. released the names of all the 19 firefighters who died while battling the wildfire. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the families of the victims of this terrible tragedy.
