Stevie Wonder Named A Presenter At Hollywood Bowl Hall Of Fame
The summer music season at the Hollywood Bowl will officially kick off with an all-star lineup for its annual Hall of Fame concert honoring this year’s legendary inductees on Saturday, June 22nd!
The incomparable Stevie Wonder has been announced as a presenter this year and will induct hall of fame recipient John Legend at the ceremony. Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith, as well as R&B vocalist Patti Austin will also be honored as inductees at the ceremony, reports Broadway World.
The opening night concert also features the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra conducted by Thomas Wilkins and concludes with a spectacular fireworks display. Proceeds from the star-studded benefit will go towards the LA Phil and its education programs, which serves over 120,000 children, teachers and adults annually.
The Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame was established in 2000 by Wayne Baruch and Charles F. Gayton on behalf of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association. Each year, the event celebrates and honors selected artists whose achievements “embody the spirit of the Bowl.”
The Hall of Fame exhibit featuring photos and film of inductees over the years can be seen on the main floor of the Hollywood Bowl Museum. Past inductees include Chaka Khan, Donna Summer, B.B. King, Josh Groban and Stevie Wonder himself.
