Did You Know: “Walk This Way” By Aerosmith

The ‘Tickets @ 2’ song today is “Walk This Way” by Aerosmith.

Aerosmith wasn’t well known when it was released in 1975. Steven Tyler tells a different story about the inspiration for the song, which is thought to be about a cheerleader who is in control, but Tyler says the song evolved from watching The Three Stooges on TV. “They walked this way and that.”

According to Rolling Stone magazine in their “100 Greatest Guitar Songs” issue, Joe Perry came up with the famous guitar riff at a soundcheck in Hawaii.

When we play it between two and three we’ll take lucky caller 13 at 1-800-232-KRTH (5784) to win a pair of tickets to see Fleetwood Mac Wednesday, July 3rd at Staples Center.
