Jay Leno hasn’t even left the Tonight Show, and there’s already a move to bring back Jay, according to a piece on the New York Post.

According to the story, NBC was so eager to get rid of Jay that they offered to pay him $15 million to get lost. But since the announcement that Jay is being replaced by Jimmy Fallon next year, a funny thing happened with Leno’s ratings.

During the May TV sweeps, the Tonight Show host bested both David Letterman and Jimmy Kimmel in ratings. Though his replacement Jimmy Fallon won his 12:35 time slot, his numbers weren’t nearly as impressive as Leno’s.

So as NBC prepares to make another change-up to the Tonight Show lineup by getting rid of the only thing working for the network, we’re wondering… are they making a huge mistake?

Take a listen below for more on the Tonight Show change-up!
