If you’ve been in withdrawal like many of us here at K-EARTH 101 ever since the high-intensity series 24 stopped ticking on our TVs in 2010, you’re in luck, because Fox is eying a return of agent Jack Bauer for a limited run!
According to Deadline.com, Fox execs are in talks to bring back the series for a limited run with Kiefer Sutherland reprising his Emmy-winning role as CTU agent Jack Bauer, though nothing has officially been confirmed.
The former showrunner Howard Gordon, who now oversees the popular Showtime series Homeland, pitched the idea of 24 returning as a mini series with a completely new story arc that would play out as the final chapter of the series.
This limited run is the latest attempt to revive the hit series after its eight-season run when plans of extending the show into a feature-length film were scrapped in 2012.
As E! News points out, the news of the 24 revival came the same day Fox announced the cancellation of Sutherland’s current series Touch, which won’t be returning for a third season.
Nothing is set in stone just yet, as the network told E! News, “We aren’t confirming anything until Monday at our upfront presentation,” but the clock could be ticking for 24 one more time.
