Dodgers’ Matt Kemp Gives Disabled Fan His Cap, Jersey & Shoes
A young fan got a surprise of a lifetime after a meeting with Dodgers star Matt Kemp after the Giants-Dodgers game at AT&T Park this past weekend.
After the game, Kemp walked over to meet a 19-year-old fan named Joshua Jones, who’s suffering from inoperable spinal tumors and has been giving 90 days to live, and sign a baseball for him, reports L.A. Times. Then to the surprise of the fan and his family and friends with him, Kemp also handed over his cap, jersey and shoes he was wearing and handed them over to the fan.
The fan’s friend, Tommy Schultz, took video of the touching gesture, which has since gone viral. Schultz writes in the video description, “Matt Kemp is sucha great person. He came over after the game and made one of my best friends night :) he’s fighting a tough battle and this was sucha great gift by Matt Kemp ! I’ll never forget this.”
