Playing the Pantages Theatre in a limited eight-show run this week, the cast of The Beatles tribute show “Rain” joined The K-EARTH 101 Morning Show in studio this morning!
The show’s stars Joey Curatolo (Paul McCartney), Joe Bithorn (George Harrison), Ralph Castelli (Ringo Starr) and Steve Landes (John Lennon), say they aren’t surprised that fans continue to come out to the show (which formed in the ’70s under the name “Reign”) because the music has stood the test of time and appeals to so many.
“It’s gets better and better, because younger people are coming out to see the show, more generations of Beatles fans, you know, keeps it fresh and exciting,” said Joey. “It’s great for us. It’s new for us every night we get on stage.”
As the cast explains, the experience of “Rain” is much more than just the music, it’s about the story of The Beatles’ legacy as well.
“In a perfect world we’d still have The Beatles, unfortunately we don’t,” said Steve. “They broke up in 1970, they stopped tour in ’66 before ‘Sgt Pepper,’ before ‘Abbey Road,’ so nobody got to hear those songs live, and that’s what we’re all about – bringing this incredible music to new generations.”
“Experience The Beatles With Rain” kicked off its eight show run at the Pantages Tuesday night and will be in town through Mother’s Day this Sunday. Showtimes are Tuesday through Friday at 8pm; Saturday at 2pm & 8pm; and Sunday at 1pm & 6:30pm. Tickets start at $25 and can be purchased at www.broadwayla.org.
