Last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Rod Stewart visited the show to promote his new album Time, available today, and told a funny story about the time he and Elton John went on a safari trip to Kenya.

Stewart explains that he and Elton would dress up every night for dinner and would go around to study animal “droppings” while calling each other “poopologists.” The jokesters also had endearing nicknames for each other in which Rod would call Elton “Sharon” and he would call Rod “Phyllis.”

Rod also said that the two were quite the pranksters back in the day, saying he and Elton would play pranks back and forth on each other while on tour.

“I was playing a show in London and I had a sign up that said ‘Blonds have more fun’ and underneath he had a banner put up ‘But brunettes have more money,'” laughed Rod. “Then I had a huge soccer ball over the arena once, and he got a marksman to go and shoot it down and it collapsed.”
