It’s something that’s unavoidable in life – the aging process will strike us all at some point, and the first sign is usually spotting those pesky grays streaking your hair.

However, a new scientific breakthrough may have found an end-all cure to the natural graying process that will say goodbye to grays without using hair dye.

A team of researchers have published a new study online at The FASEB Journal, saying that going gray is a result of “massive oxidative stress via accumulation of hydrogen peroxide in the hair follicle, which causes hair to bleach itself from the inside out,” according to Natureworldnews.com.

The study notes that the researchers have developed a treatment to the build op of hydrogen peroxide that is described as a “topical, ultraviolet B-activated (sunlight) compound PC-KUS, a modified pseudocatalase,” which replaces the pigmentation in the hair follicle.

“For generations, numerous remedies have been concocted to hide gray hair,” said Dr. Gerald Weissmann, the editor-in-chief of The FASEB Journal, “but now, for the first time, an actual treatment that gets to the root of the problem has been developed. While this is exciting news, what’s even more exciting is that this also works for vitiligo. This condition, while technically cosmetic, can have serious socio-emotional effects of people. Developing an effective treatment for this condition has the potential to radically improve many people’s lives.”

The researchers haven’t revealed whether they will be making the treatment available for retail, but it may just be the key to youth many have been waiting for!
