Did You Know: “I Got You (I Feel Good)” By James Brown

This afternoon on ‘Tickets @ 2’ it’s the Godfather of Soul, James Brown with “I Got You (I Feel Good).”

The original 1964 version had no guitar. When Brown redid it in 1965, he made his screams more pronounced and added some instrumentation, including more sax.

The hit was recorded at Criteria Studios in Miami, creating the first gold record to come out of criteria, where in later years the Eagles did ‘Hotel California” and Derek and the Dominoes did “Layla.”

When we play it between two and three we’ll take caller # 7  at 1-800-232-KRTH (5784) to win a pair of tickets to the classical musical “Singin’ In The Rain” performed by Pacific Symphony, Thursday May 9th at the Segerstrom Concert Hall.
