Did You Know: “Boogie Wonderland” By Earth, Wind & Fire

This afternoon’s ‘Tickets @ 2’ song is “Boogie Wonderland” by (K)Earth, Wind, & Fire. It’s one of the more complex and misinterpreted songs of the Disco era. Written by Jon Lind and Allee Willis, inspired by the movie Looking For Mr. Goodbar, with Diane Keaton as a very lost woman who goes to clubs every night to dance and forget how miserable he was.

The Emotions provided the female back-up vocals on the song.

According to one of the writers, Allee Willis: “It was 1978, and every song had ‘boogie’ in the title.”

When we play it between two and three we’ll take caller #7 at 1-800-232-KRTH (5784) to win a pair of tickets to Madame Tussauds Hollywood, where you can see…touch…and take pictures with Hollywood Celebrities.
