Former law enforcement agent and up and coming author Jeff Robinson has spent the last 17 years of his thirty year career covering criminal investigations at the Southern California District Attorney’s Office Bureau of Investigation. Now the author has taken his stories on the field as the inspiration to write a mystery novel titled Keeping The Secret.
In his debut novel, Jeff draws from his past criminal cases to create a whirlwind detective-thriller starring main character Sergeant Tom Hastings, who tracks down cold-blooded killers while at the same time tries to balance a budding relationship.
Jeff says the title is a “double entendre” because there is a literal secret being covered up that the main character unwittingly uncovers, as well as a philosophical meaning that our law enforcement is willing to keep the secret of crimes to help “keep evil at bay” for our loved ones.
Jeff notes that the demands of law enforcement agents to continue to keep violence and crime from happening in the world means that they must sometimes be pulled away from their normal lives.
“It certainly is challenging and it does require family member to be understating of the demands,” said Jeff. “Like the Boston incident – this is sudden and a lot of people who were perhaps on vacation or going to wedding anniversaries or birthday parties that got called off those events in an instant to be part of this much larger investigation. And that’s just life in this career field.”
Jeff will be selling and signing copies of his book in upcoming appearances around SoCal. See his schedule below to know when you can meet this up and coming author and get your copy of Keeping The Secret.
