Dancing With The Stars pro and 13th season champion, Karina Smirnoff joined us on The K-EARTH 101 Morning Show today to talk about the brand new season of the hit show and how her new partner, NFL star Jacoby Jones, is handling the competition.

“He has the discipline, he has the quality which I think is one of the mandatory qualities you need to be able to go all the way to the end,” said Karina.

Karina also talks about the similarities Jacoby has to her former partner J.R. Martinez, who won the DWTS mirrorball trophy on season 13. She says that both partners are “really big goofballs” who take the competition seriously.

In addition to her busy schedule on DWTS, Karina is gearing up for a special charity event to help introduce kids to the art of dance. Karina is bringing her new dancing partner to New York for a special charity event with the non-profit organization Bright Future, which gives disadvantaged kids a chance to express themselves in the arts.

“I love dancing, I love for what it is able to give me,” said Karina. “And that’s why I want to be able to give other kids the opportunity to at least be introduced to that.”

Karina will be the host of Bright Future’s “Beyond The Ballet” charity event taking place at the Beacon Theater in New York City on May 8th. The night will feature rising young dancers taking the stage with some of the most renowned dancers from the Metropolitan Opera, American Ballet Theatre, the New York City Ballet and Martha Graham Dance Company.

Tickets to Beyond the Ballet and more information on the event can be found at www.brightfutureinternational.org.
