This morning, Good Morning America‘s Josh Elliott called in to give us an update on the condition of Louisville Cardinals’ Kevin Ware after his interview with the college sophomore player this week.

Having sat down with Kevin for an in depth interview on his story after suffering a horrific leg injury over the weekend, Josh tells Gary and Lisa that Kevin is in good spirits despite the accident.

“I can tell you for the people who are worried about Kevin Ware as he begins this road to recovery, based on the guy I met yesterday, there’s really nothing to be worried about,” said Josh. “He continues to be a galvanizing force for the people around him.”

Josh explains that doctors believe that Kevin may have sustained small cracking in his leg before that caused such an extreme injury after the impact on the court. However, he tells us Josh is determined to recover and is believed to be back on the courts in just months.

“If he heals at a normal rate and is diligent with his rehab, they expect him to be able to take to court and begin basic drills in six-eight months,” said Josh. “He acknowledged yesterday, he said ‘I’m never going to watch the replay because I don’t want it to mess with me mentally.”
