The ‘Tickets @ 2′ hit today is “Chain Of Fools” by Aretha Franklin. It came out in 1967 and ran up the music chart to #2. It was written by Don Covay, an R& B singer who wrote songs that were recorded by The Rolling Stones (“Mercy Mercy), Wilson Pickett, Otis Redding and many others.

The song won a Grammy for Best Female R & B Performance in 1969. The category was introduced in 1968, and Aretha won the first 8 years, adding three more in the ’80s.

When you hear “Chain Of Fools” between two and three we’ll take caller #7 at 1-800-232-KRTH (5784) to win a 4-Pack of tickets to the 65th Anniversary Hot Rod Home Coming the 23rd and 24th of March. I’ll be there Saturday the 23rd from 11a to 1 pm. look for K-EARTH-101. It’s all happening at the Fairplex in Pomona.
