The Oscars are just a couple of weeks away, and this year as the stars walk the red carpet and get asked “who are you wearing?” we could be hearing the name Smokey Robinson.
The soul singer has announced that he’s teamed up with designer James Andrew, the former tailor to late boxer Joe Frazier, for a new clothing collection of signature designer suits and casual sportswear, according to WENN.
Andrew told WENN that “men and women’s suiting and sportswear dominate the collection and are intended for today’s fashion conscious urbanites.”
The new Smokey Robinson Collection will debut at a special fashion show on Feb. 23rd on the eve of the Oscars at Los Angeles’ fashion-inspired lounge, COUTURE.
After its pre-Oscar fashion show debut, Smokey’s line will be exclusively available on www.jamesandrewclothing.com.
This isn’t the first business venture Smokey has had his hands in, either. The singer previously launched a gumbo-style frozen food line “Soul In A Bowl” back in 2004.
