The ‘Tickets @ 2′ song of the day is “Chain Of Fools” by the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin.

The song was written around 1953 by Don Covay, an R & B singer who wrote songs that were recorded by The Rolling Stones, Wilson Pickett, Otis Redding, and many others. Covay recorded a version himself but it went nowhere.

The Grammy’s are on CBS this Sunday, and this song won a Grammy for Best Female R & B Performance in 1969. The song gained new exposure when it was featured in the 1996 movie Michael, starring John Travolta as an unlikely archangel come to earth.

When we play it between two and three we’ll take caller #10 at 1-800-232-KRTH (5784) to win a pair of tickets to enjoy the music of Kenny G on Valentines Day.
