How infuriated would you feel after wiring a stranger nearly $6,000 for tickets to the Super Bowl only to get a taunting package in return with NO tickets inside?
That’s how diehard 49ers fan, Sharon Osgood, must have felt when she expected to receive tickets to the game from a seller on Craigslist, but instead received a picture of 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick and Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco with the message that read: “Go Ravens! LOL!”
As Stephanie Tanner would say, HOW RUDE! According to CBS News, Osgood and her boyfriend wired the seller $5, 900 for four tickets, but got the unpleasant surprise in return. The seller claimed to be a season ticket holder that couldn’t make the game because his wife was pregnant, and over a course of the week, worked out payment arrangements through emails, phone calls and text messages.
But there’s a happy ending to this story. After news broke about this scam, Ticketmaster CEO Nathan Hubbard graciously offered Osgood four tickets to attend the Super Bowl, plus a special pre-game breakfast with NFL great Troy Aikman!
Not only that, the newspaper that broke the the story San Jose Mercury News says that the 49ners themselves are giving Osgood an extra pair of tickets so Osgood can bring her nephew’s girlfriend.
We bet the scammer isn’t LOLing now!
