Ashton Kutcher’s new film portraying Steve Jobs’ rise in the tech world recently debuted at the Sundance Film Festival, but from what he was telling press, it was no easy feat filling Jobs’ shoes.

For his role in jOBS, Kutcher revealed that he was so dedicated to playing the role true to heart that he even adopted Jobs’ unusual fruit diet. The ‘fruitarian’ diet as it’s referred, only allows a diet of fruits and vegetables, with some nuts, but as Kutcher took on the diet as preparation for the film, he found himself in the hospital.

“First of all, the fruitarian diet can lead to like severe issues,” Kutcher told USA Today. “I went to the hospital like two days before we started shooting the movie. I was like doubled over in pain. My pancreas levels were completely out of whack,” Kutcher added. “It was really terrifying … considering everything.”

However, there is no evidence that an all fruit and veggie diet can lead to pancreatic problems or pancreatic cancer, which Jobs died of in 2011.
