You may have noticed that K-EARTH 101 Morning Show’s host with the most, Gary Bryan, has been absent from the show the past couple of days now due to his recovery from having shoulder surgery.

The wonderful Dave Randall manning his post while he’s recovering, and this morning Gary checked in with Dave and Lisa Stanley post operation to give us the latest update on his condition.

So what exactly happened to Gary’s shoulder? He explains on the call:

“It’s been an interesting journey, because I had this shoulder pain…stupidly lifting weights over the shoulder I tore a ligament in the left shoulder and went in and had it repaired,” Gary said.

After the doctor mended his torn shoulder, Gary was put on pain medication through a catheter of meds in his shoulder, which got him thinking about some of the men and women in the military who come back with injuries from serving.

“I though to myself, ‘do you do this with the guys and gals in the military who come back with these kinds of injuries?’ and he said ‘yeah, it’s the same thing we do,’” explained Gary. “With my problem, as painful as it is, start thinking about some of these people who come back with just all kinds of horrific injuries and you think how lucky you really are that as bad as it is, it’s the only problem you got.”

Though he’s recovery and a little sore from the pain, Gary still has his sense of humor at full force. After Lisa asked him, “are you in pain?” Gary came back with a zinger “Only when you talk!”
