Tina Fey and Amy Poehler’s opening monologue: The former SNL castmates came out strong in their opening monolgue of the Golden Globes. Their sharp wit had the audience bent over in laughter with the top jokes of the night being Amy’s take on the Zero Dark Thirty controversy saying ”When it comes to torture, I trust the lady who spent three years married to James Cameron.” Tina made a funny jab at Anne Hathaway about her role in Les Miserable saying “I have not seen someone so totally alone and abandoned like that since you were on stage with James Franco at the Oscars.” Click here to watch the full monologue.
“Drunk” Glenn Close: After Lena Dunham beat out both Tina Fey and Amy Poehler for best actress in a comedy series, the two hosts made cracks about the loss with a couple of hard drinks in hand. But the funniest bit came when Fey pointed out how “drunk” Glenn Close was, which gave us this priceless moment:
Kristen Wiig and Will Ferrel presenting: The two SNL vets came out to present best actress in a comedy or musical and had us laughing throughout their entire bit having pretended to see all the movies. The funniest part of the whole scene came when cameras cutaway to an “unimpressed” Tommy Lee Jones in the audience, whose grumpy face during the funny presenters’ schtick went viral online.
