Comedian Dom Irrera On Late Night Shows: Jay Leno Is “Too Desperate”

Comedian Dom Irrera has performed on just about every talk show stage on television from The View and Oprah to all the various late night shows. For the comedian who makes the late night circuit frequently, Dom has his favorites when it comes to the late night wars.

Now with the competitive field of late night with Jimmy Kimmel nudging in on late night veterans Jay Leno and David Letterman in his new 11:35 p.m. time slot, Dom says the edge in the battle of late night goes to the younger hosts.

“I kind of root for the three younger guys,” said Dom. “You know Jay’s too desperate to hold on to the job. It’s like loving your wife too much where you just suffocate here. David…he’s great, but he just seems kind of bitter.”

But fans don’t have to wait for Dom to appear on late night to catch his hilarious act. Fans can catch the comedian performing live this Friday and Saturday at the Laugh Factory in Long Beach. After you see him live, you can also catch his podcast Dom Irrera Live At The Laugh Factory on iTunes now!
