The new year is a chance for a fresh start and new leash on life, and for one university the new year means taking a look at some of the overused words and phrases that should be banished from our vernacular forever and ever.
Lake Superior State University complied its annual “List of Words Banished from the Queen’s English for Mis-Use, Over-Use and General Uselessness,” from nominations all year long to come up with the top 12 that should be banned in 2013. The list started in 1976 and has previously “banned” words like baby bump, viral, epic, bromance, game changer and many more.
