Did You Know: “What’s Love Got To Do With It?” By Tina Turner

The ‘Tickets @ 2’ song today is Tina Turner’s “What’s Love Got To Do With It?” This was Tina’s comeback song. She first hit the Pop charts with her husband Ike Turner in 1960, and their biggest hit came in 1971 with a cover of “Proud Mary.”

After enduring years of spousal abuse, Tina split from Ike in the mid-’70s and her career was in limbo until this song thrust her back in the spotlight 13 years after “Proud Mary.”

“What’s Love Got To Do With It” won Grammys in 1985 for song of the year, Record of the Year, and Best Female Vocal Performance.

When we play it between two and three we’ll take caller #10 at 1-800-232-KRTH (5784) to win a pair of tickets to see War in concert December 29th at the Grove of Anaheim.
