LAX Named Second Most Stressful Airport In The Country

Traveling out of town for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday? You might want to start preparing for a stressful travel experience.

In a new survey that should come to little surprise to those who’ve traveled through Los Angeles International Airport, the busy hub has been named as the second most stressful in the country according to L.A. business Journal.

The study done by Concur, a travel and expense management company, found only one other airport more stressful than LAX, naming Chicago O’Hare as the most stressful in the country with New York’s John F. Kennedy coming in third.

Some factors cited by survey participants include confusing airport signage, long lines, distance between terminal gates, poor service from airstaff and even lack of wi-fi coverage as the most common stressors while traveling.

Another factor that could double the stress factor for the busiest travel day of the year at LAX next week, is a planned walk-out by hundreds of airport employees on Thanksgiving eve.

CBS LA reports that as many as 1,000 employees are considering to march down Century Boulevard in protest of LAX contractor Aviation Safeguards (AVSG) for breaking their contract with the airport earlier this year. An estimated 1.8 million people are expected travel through LAX for the holiday, and if the strike happens, some delays are expected.
