This afternoon the song to listen for on ‘Ticket’s @ 2′ is “Chain Of Fools” from the Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin.

Written by Don Covay in 1953, Don was an R&B singer who wrote songs that were recorded by The Rolling Stones, Wilson Pickett, Otis Redding and many others.

The song won a Grammy for Best Female R&B performance in 1969. That category was introduced in 1968, and Aretha won the first 8 years, adding three more in the ’80s.

When it plays between 2 & 3 we’ll be looking for caller #5 to win a pair of tickets to see Wicked Divas: An Evening Of Broadway Hits Thursday November 15th at Segerstrom Center for The Arts.
