With dozens of acting credits to his name, actor Jason Beghe is one of the most familiar faces (and voices) in Hollywood. He’s been the love interest of Demi Moore in G.I. Jane, been in American Dreams, and now he’s starring as the crooked cop Det. Voight on the new NBC drama Chicago Fire!
Jason stopped in to the Morning Show to talk about working on the new Dick Wolf show, which he applauds the incredible writers and crew.
“It’s fun for an actor to get something that well written so you can really bite into it,” said Jason.
The one thing Jason is probably most well-known for isn’t for a role in TV or film, it’s a shocking video interview he did in 2008 that criticized the organization Scientology. Jason was a former member of the church and one of the first celebrities to exposed what happened behind doors.
He tells us that he decided to clear his name of the church after finding himself on Wikipedia with a description that he was an avid supported even after he left.
“I actually felt nauseated and I felt compelled to set the record straight,” said Jason. “It was the top video on YouTube, until it mysteriously disappeared.”
Listen to our interview with Jason below to hear more about Chicago Fire, his experience in Scientology and more. Check him out on Chicago Fire tonight at 10 on NBC!
