Today’s ‘Tickets @ 2′ song is “Heart and Soul” by Huey Lewis and the News. It came out in 1983.

“Heart and Soul” was written by Mike Chapman and Nicky Chinn and made famous by Huey. It first came out in 1981 by a group called Exile who had a #1 hit in 1978 called “Kiss You All Over.” However their version of”Heart and Soul” bubbled under on the Billboard Hot 100 at number 102. Huey’s version made the Top 10 at #8.

Former band member Chris Hayes said one of the reason’s “Heart and Soul” sounds so good is becasue of a  Marshall amp in a tiny room with a Les Paul plugged in.

When we play it between two and three we’ll take caller #11 to win a pair of tickets to Stevie Wonder’s 17th annual House Full Of Toys December 15th at Nokia L.A. Live. 1-800-232-KRTH.(5784)
