Bruce Springsteen To Campaign For President Obama
This Thursday, a day before Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band resume their “Wrecking Ball” tour, Springsteen will campaign in support of President Obama and Vice President Biden.
He’s scheduled to appear in Ames, Iowa and Pama, Ohio for campaign events. While President Obama won’t be at either campaign event, President Bill Clinton will.
Obama/Biden campaign manager Jim Messina said in a statement: “Bruce Springsteen’s values echo what the President and Vice President stand for: hard work, fairness, integrity. His appearances will help with our get out the vote effort in these critical swing states and we are thrilled with his ongoing support.”
According to Springsteen’s official website, “The appearances will be free and open to the public. Specific information including timing and location will be released in the coming days.”
Although Springsteen campaigned for Obama in 2008, until now, he’s kept silent during this electoral cycle, telling The New Yorker that stumping for politicians is “Something I didn’t do for a long time, and I don’t have plans to be out there every time.”
