Airport security detained a man arriving a LAX from Japan last Friday after he was spotted in body armor and was suspected of transporting weapons, bio-hazard suits and body bags in his luggage.

Yongda Huang Harris appeared in court on Tuesday to face charges of transporting hazardous materials. His luggage included a smoke grenade, three leather-coated billy clubs, a collapsible baton, a full-face respirator, knives, a hatchet, body bags, a biohazard suit, masks, duct tape, batteries, oven mitts, cooking tongs, handcuffs, leg irons and a device to repel dogs.

Harris, 28, was charged with one count of transporting hazardous materials. If convicted, he faces up to five years in prison. His detention hearing was postponed until Friday, reports CBS LA.
