Two and a Half Men star Ashton Kutcher was the victim of a home invasion hoax when police received a call about possible shots being fired at his home, according to CBS LA.

Police received a teletype message, which is used for a person who is hard of hearing, that three men were inside the house and heard shots being fired while the person hid in a closet.

Police responded immediately by sending out the necessary resources to report to a hostage situation, but after investigating inside the home, they determined it to be a hoax, which is referred to as “swatting.”

Miley Cyrus’ home was the target of “swatting” just a few months ago, and she just so happens to be this week’s guest star on Two and a Half Men. Police are not sure whether the two cases are connected.

Kutcher returned to his home after police left and assured fans that he was “safe and sound” after the whole ordeal.
