Today on this first day of October the ‘Tickets @ 2′ song to listen for is “Dreams” by Fleetwood Mac. It’s from the 1977 album Rumours.

During the sessions for Rumours, everyone was going through a breakup (Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham, John and Christine Mc Vie, and Mick Fleetwood and his wife.) They were able to work together but on an individual songwriting basis. Stevie Nicks wrote “Dreams” in a recording studio next door to one Sly Stone was recording in.

Stevie told ‘Q’ magazine in June of 2009 that this was a different response to Buckinham’s frank broadside to her in “Go Your Own Way.” She explained: “It was the fairy and the gnome.I was trying to be all philosophical. And he was just mad.”

They got some brilliant work out of that ‘breakup’ recording session. This was Fleetwood Mac’s only # 1 hit in the US.

When you hear it play between two and three we’ll take caller #7 at 1-800-232-KRTH (5784) to win  four-pack of tickets to the 60th annual California RV Show at the Fairplex in Pomona.
