In what many fans are calling one of the worst calls in NFL history, the controversial game-winning decision during Monday night’s game between the Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers game has just about everyone up in arms.
The replacement NFL refs are being called out for their bad call on the Hail Mary play that gave the Seattle a 14-12 victory over the Green Bay.
With 8 seconds left in the game, Seattle’s Russel Wilson made a last ditch effort by throwing a Hail Mary into the end zone when Green Bay’s M.D. Jennings looked as if he had intercepted the throw. Jennings looked like he had the ball clutched to his chest while Seattle’s Golden Tate fought to get his hands on the ball while lying underneath the defender.
Two of the replacement officials raced over to the pile of players to make the call, but one signaled interception while the other signaled for a touchdown.
The play was then ruled a touchdown, and video replay did not overturn the call despite Jennings seeming to have control of the ball.
