In tune with presidential campaign currently in full swing, expert vinyl collector Mighty John Marshall of MoneyMusic.com joined us this morning to reveal two surprising collectibles – one from a Democrat and one from a Republican.
Republican: Clint Eastwood — Rawhide’s Clint Eastwood Sings Cowboy Favorites (1962): worth $100
Before he was talking to chairs, Clint Eastwood was a crooning cowboy on a full LP featuring songs that embodied the spirit of America. Some songs included on Cowboy Favorites were “Sierra Nevada,” “Don’t Fence Me In,” and “Are You Satisfied.”
Democrat: John Kerry — The Electras (1962): worth $500
Senator John Kerry slapped the bass in a high school band before campaigning for President. The only album recorded by The Electras features surf-pop inspired songs with their primary goal being to “meet more babes.” Kerry never did stop playing music, and would often be seen playing guitar during his presidential run.
