The ‘Tickets @2′ song of the day for An L.A. County Fair four-pack if tickets is “Shout (Part 1 & II)” by The Isley Brothers. They originally recorded the song in 1959 as a call-and-response answer to Jackie Wilson’s “Lonely Teardrops.”

While the song did not reach higher than #47 on the Billboard Hot 100, it became their first gold single on the basis of longevity, and much covered by other artists.

Joey Dee and the Starlighters reached #6 with their cover of the song in 1962, while the Isley Brothers’ version re-charted that same year at #94. Scottish pop singer Lulu had a #7 UK hit with her version in 1964.

When we play it between two and three we’ll take caller #8 to win those L.A. County Fair tickets. Call in at 1-800-232-KRTH (5784) to win!
